S’pore Minime Fencing Championships 2009 (Under 12 and Under 14)

On September 5 & 6, Fencing Singapore will be hosting the Singapore Minime Fencing Championships (for Under 12s and Under 14s) in Clementi Sports Hall. We will be preparing our fencers and helping with their registration for this event.

Registration & Payment Deadline at Z Fencing Centres: Sun Aug 23

• Under 12 competition is open to fencers who are under 12 years old as of Jan 1 '09 (ie those born in 1997 or later)


• Under 14 competition is open to fencers who are under 14 years old as of Jan 1 '09 (ie those born in 1995 or later)

Registration:

All participants are required to complete Fencing Singapore's "Fencer's Registration Form" and "Indemnity Form". These forms are available at Z Fencing centres and may also be downloaded from Fencing Singapore's website at http://www.fencingsingapore.org.sg

Competition Fees:
$12 - Individual Competition
$16.70 - Team Competition (fee per fencer)
$15 - Fencing Singapore Licence Fee (for Singaporeans & PR)
$30 - Fencing Singapore Licence Fee (for non-Singaporeans)

As Z Fencing will be collecting these fees for submission to Fencing Singapore, no receipts will be issued and payments are to be made in cash only.

Under-14 Individual Events

12:00noon Reporting & weapons control - Individual Boys' Sabre, Girls' Epee & Girls' Foil
02:30pm Reporting & weapons control - Individual Boys' Epee

Sunday September 6 2009
Under-12 Individual Events

09:00am Reporting & weapons control - Individual Boys' Foil
10:00am Reporting & weapons control - Individual Girls' Foil

Under-14 Team Events
01:30pm Reporting & weapons control - Team Boys’ Foil
02:30pm Reporting & weapons control - Team Girls Foil

NOTE: To be at the Venue at least half an hour before the reporting time.

Attire when reporting: Z T-shirt, Breeches, Long Socks & Fencing shoes. (Warm-up & pre-
competition exercises will be conducted for Z Fencers.)


Competition Format:
U14 – First round of Pool (5 pts, 3 min), DE – 15 pts, 3 periods of 3 min each with 1 min rest in between periods.
U12 – First round of Pool (5 pts, 3 min), DE – 10 pts, 2 periods of 3 min each with 1 min rest in between periods.
NOTE: There may be fencers being eliminated after the first round of Pool.


During the Competitions:
1. No one is allowed in the competition area - only registered fencers.
2. No one is allowed to shout instructions to fencers while they are fencing. (The only time coaches are allowed to talk to the fencers is during the 1 min break in DE round.)
Parents:
3. Please ensure your children place their equipment in their fencing bags when not in use & not let them lying around.
4. After they come back from each fencing bout, please make sure they account for all the equipment they brought out & place them back into their fencing bag.
5. Please ensure all their equipment have their names on it.
6. Please ensure they do not wander around but to stay at the waiting area. Their names may be called at any time for the next bout.
7. Please encourage your young children on & not to apply undue pressure on them. Let them learn their Life Lesson in Winning or in Defeat. Let’s have FUN & Enjoy!
